Organic footwear
Organic footwear is a popular option for a growing number of shoppers.

Vegans, in particular, endorse the use of alternatives to animal skins. Today, there more alternatives than ever.
Most leather produced is made from the skins of cattle, as well as horses, sheep, lambs, goats, and pigs.
Some leather is subjected to tanning, which stabilises the fibers to stop biodegrading. Today's tanning process involves mineral salts, formaldehyde, coal tar derivatives, and a variety of dyes, some of which are cyanide-based. There are natural leather products on the market though so all is not lost......
There are alternatives too. We can try footwear made of organic cotton, linen, ramie, canvas, and hemp. A few new synthetics have the same feel as leather and is machine washable.

Organic Food Better for your HeartNew research has found that organic fruit and vegetables may be better for you than conventionally grown crops.
Researchers from the University of California did a 10-year study comparing organic tomatoes with standard tomatoes. The results showed that the organic ones had nearly double the amount of flavonoids (an anti-oxidant found in soil), which have been proven to reduce high blood pressure and lower the risk of heart disease than the non-organic ones.
The researchers said the different levels of flavonoids in the tomatoes could be due to the lack of fertilisers used in organic farming.
